Next steps on the learning journey:

What are we learning about?
How does it link in with what we already have learned?
What is our starting point and what do we already know about it?
Where do we need to get to?
How are we going to get there?
What will it look like when we arrive?
What do we need to learn and do in order to get there?
What is the best way to learn this?
What is the first step?
What comes next?
What will we do if we get stuck?
How will we know when we have got there successfully?
What will we do then?

The question: What makes a difference?

As someone who works in school improvement I keep coming back to this statement:

You are doing lots that is good already. Many of the skills you need are in place, but, have thought about ... to make a difference?

So, what is it that 'Makes a Difference'.

There is no magic wand, no one thing that makes it all work. What makes a difference is the complex interweaving of many strands, different in each school, academy or college, and different in every single classroom. Teaching is an art form. It is full of skill and subtlety. On these pages I hope to to reflect on messages which have grown out the myriad things I have seen and heard.
